About Us

What began as a supply division of a Wilson, NC, testing laboratory in 1962 grew steadily into one of the largest chemical distributors in the Carolinas. In 1977, the dedicated employees took ownership of the Water Guard division and established it as an independent water treatment distributor, Water Guard INCORPORATED.

Our Transition

The initial focus of the company was on providing solutions for boiler and cooling towers. However, with the introduction of the Clean Water Act of 1977, demand quickly shifted towards supplying products for public and private water utilities. Recognizing this changing landscape, Water Guard quickly adapted, becoming a reliable provider of products for water treatment facilities.
As the years went by, our company expanded its offerings to include a wide range of products and services. We transformed into a service center and distribution hub for metering pumps, flowmeters, filtration, and process equipment. To meet growing demand, our logistics fleet expanded with the addition of more trucks, enabling us to provide convenient small bulk chemical deliveries to water plants and swimming pools in the area.

By the turn of the century, Water Guard had become the leading distributor of industrial bleach to potable water systems and swimming pools in Eastern North Carolina. Throughout the 2000s, we further expanded our inventory and delivery capabilities, focusing not only on industrial water and wastewater treatment but also on meeting the needs of food processing and agriculture facilities. Tanker trucks, including partitioned and small-batch tanker trucks, were added to the company's versatile fleet.
Today, Water Guard remains employee-owned, and our experienced staff and technicians work closely with customers to deliver the best treatment results possible.
